Nollywood Actress Critiques Nigerian Pastors Over Financial Support
Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has publicly criticized several Nigerian pastors, including Jeremiah, Jerry, and Suleman, alleging that their financial assistance was driven by ulterior motives.
The actress’s remarks follow her recent legal disputes involving Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry.
In an Instagram post, Ogala asserted that these pastors offered her financial help only after the death of her brother, despite her having sought their support during his illness. She characterized their gestures as accompanied by insults and noted that her brother’s passing has taken a toll on her mental health.
“I will tell you the pastors I’ve encountered. Their roles in my life. I will mention four pastors. All of them have given me money one way or another. But what was the reason for the money? Most times, the money comes with a lot of plea and insults,” she wrote.
Ogala continued, expressing her feelings of betrayal: “When my brother was dying, I begged and begged for help. I spent everything I had trying to save him, but these people ignored me, and my brother died. It was only after his death that they began to offer financial support.”
She highlighted the urgency of her situation, mentioning ongoing expenses related to police and legal matters and revealing her struggles with mental health.
Despite her current hardships, Ogala stated her commitment to speaking out, emphasizing that she feels deeply affected by her brother’s death and the treatment she has received from some of these pastors.
“My time here is limited. The death of my brother took a part of me. One of these pastors hurt me deeply with the way he humiliated me,” she added, indicating her intent to share her story in detail.
Ogala’s remarks underscore her ongoing distress and the impact of her brother’s loss on her life.
