‘N36m for health in 2025 shows lack of seriousness’ — Shehu Sani questions FG

Former Lawmaker Criticizes Government’s Funding for Health Sector
Former federal lawmaker Shehu Sani has expressed concern over reports that only 36 million Naira was allocated to the health sector for the 2025 fiscal year.
Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the Senate, characterized the funding level as inadequate and indicative of a serious lack of commitment to addressing the nation’s healthcare challenges. He made these remarks on Friday through his verified account on X.
“If it is confirmed that only 36 million Naira has been released for the health sector in 2025, it is unfortunate and displays a lack of seriousness in the health sector,” Sani stated. He further called on Finance Minister Wale Edun to provide a comprehensive explanation regarding the allocation.
