Namadi Warns Contractor Over Pace, Quality Of Work At Specialist Hospital –

Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the ongoing construction at Hadejia Specialist Hospital, deeming the quality and pace of work unacceptable after a decade of effort. During an unscheduled inspection, the Governor identified several issues, including visible cracks in the hospital walls and the use of substandard materials, which further fueled his frustration.

Governor Namadi emphasized that the current state of the construction does not reflect the public funds and time invested in the project. In response, he directed the contractors to immediately elevate the quality of their work or risk losing their contracts. He made it clear that his administration would no longer tolerate subpar construction, affirming that delivering quality services is a top priority for the Jigawa State Government.

The Governor’s commitment to effective service delivery aligns with his administration’s 12-point development agenda, aimed at fostering a prosperous Jigawa State. During the inspection, he assessed critical areas of the hospital, including the operating theatre, accident and emergency unit, and maternity ward, and reiterated his disappointment with the work quality.

Additionally, the Governor inspected several other ongoing projects, including a well-fencing initiative at the Federal College of Education in Birnin Kudu and various agricultural projects in Kirikasamma Local Government Area. These projects are expected to enhance healthcare services, agricultural productivity, and educational access throughout the state.

This inspection tour is part of Governor Namadi’s initiative for continuous statewide monitoring to promote transparency, accountability, and the efficient use of public funds. The Jigawa State Government is determined to ensure that all public projects adhere to acceptable standards and contribute positively to the lives of its citizens.
