Nasboi berates Carterefe for saying skit making ‘is dead’

Skitmaker Nasboi Criticizes Carterefe’s Comments on Skit Making
Nigerian skitmaker Nasiru Lawal, widely known as Nasboi, has criticized fellow skitmaker-turned-streamer Carterefe for recent remarks that downplayed the significance of skit making.
During an episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Carterefe stirred controversy by stating that skit making is “dead.” He expressed feelings of depression regarding the industry’s status, claiming it was in decline until he transitioned to a streaming career.
In a follow-up interview with Naija FM in Lagos, Nasboi challenged Carterefe’s assertions. He labeled the comments as a significant misstep, emphasizing that skit making is the foundation of Carterefe’s success.
“While evolving is not inherently negative, belittling the industry that propelled you is unfortunate,” Nasboi stated. “Carterefe is a friend, and we communicate regularly, but sometimes his words can be careless.”
He further countered Carterefe’s viewpoint, asserting that skit making remains a vibrant field. “You can’t claim skit making is dead when new talents are emerging every day,” Nasboi argued. “The evolution of individuals does not equate to the demise of the industries they depart.”
