New Erborian Centella Cleansers | British Beauty Blogger

[unpaid/sample] I’m surprised it’s taken Erborian so long to hitch a ride on the Centella bandwagon, but they have and the wait is worthwhile. As an ingredient, I like centella – it’s a prime example of a natural product that’s been used for centuries for good reason making its way into mainstream products, again for good reason.

Centella asiatica is otherwise known as asian pennywort, tiger grass or gotu kola which I am sure will ring bells as appearing in several well-known creams but hasn’t really been given the credit it deserves as a soother, an antioxidant and rich source of amino acids. There’s also some squalane and chamomile in the blend. Erborian Centella Cleansing Gel is my favourite of the two but if you want belt and braces, you could use the Cleansing Oil to remove make up and follow with the Gel to cleanse the skin afterwards.

You really do get a very clean feel from these – the oil whipped through mascara and lipstick and left my skin feeling soft and supple, and following on from the make up removal, the gel gave a non-drying but effective cleanse all ready for moisturiser. The scent is a draw for me because its a kind of clean herby-botanical aroma – certainly the scent backs up the efficacy – like it acts as clean as it smells if you see what I mean! They’ve got smaller size bottles for £8.50 (gel), £9.50 (oil) if you want to dip your toe in the water, but if you like a wash-off cleanse, I think you’ll like these. They’re HERE. Actually, I still love their Double Mousse Cleanser – one of my favourites of all time.
