This Tuesday 11th October 2022 sees the third edition of the #NGTalentUKEducated Careers, Alumni and Networking Event take place at the Eko Hotel on Victoria Island.

Devised in 2018, by Emma Tarrant Tayou of Graduate Guidance Group, and supported by twelve UK Universities in 2022, this is the only joint event of its kind – inviting graduates reconnect with their former institutions and to find out more about career opportunities in Nigeria, as an extension of the alumni and career support typically offered by universities in the UK.

As well as one to one interactions with employers such as KPMG, Shalina Healthcare Nigeria, UNICEF – Generation Unlimited, QPay and more, attendees will be able to attend information and advice sessions and get feedback on how to summarise their skills and experience in a targeted CV with Jobberman Nigeria. They can attend the photo booth, where they can get a professional headshot for their Social Media platforms. By joining the event, they will also be able to submit their CVs to partner employers and be first in line for future careers and networking events organised by the Graduate Guidance Group.

Attendees of the event also benefit from networking with university representatives and other UK alumni who may have graduated in different years or from other institutions but with whom they have a shared UK experience.

Yusuff Kaffo, Senior International Recruitment Manager at the University of Wolverhampton (pictured above at the 2018 event), said “We believe strongly that our Nigerian graduates can excel anywhere they choose to pursue their careers, including here in Nigeria. That’s why I am excited to see this event happening once again after the COVID break and to give our alumni here the networks and tools to fulfil their potential.”

This event is a unique opportunity for employers to engage with a pipeline of Nigerian talent who have acquired international experience through their UK education and experiences studying alongside students from all around the world and are looking to apply their skills and develop their career potential in Nigeria. The event will also welcome Chevening and Commonwealth alumni who have been sponsored for their studies in the UK through the British government scholarship programmes.
