Nigerian Artists Earn N60 Billion on Spotify in 2025
Nigerian artists generated more than N60 billion from Spotify in 2025, according to the streaming platform’s annual report released Monday. This marks a revenue growth of over 140 percent for these artists compared to the previous two years.
The report highlighted that approximately 58 percent of the royalties earned by Nigerian artists came from independent musicians and labels. In 2025, Nigerian artists amassed 30.3 billion streams and 1.6 billion listening hours on the platform.
Additionally, local streams of songs by Nigerian female artists increased by 55 percent during the year.
Nigerian music’s global reach remains significant, with artists featured in nearly 320 million user-generated playlists worldwide and over 12 million playlists within Nigeria. In total, more than 60 million playlists featuring Nigerian artists were created on Spotify in 2025.
