Nigerian Govt begins February salary payment to workers
The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) has confirmed the commencement of salary payments for February 2026 to federal workers.
In a statement released on Monday, Bawa Mokwa, the Director of Press at OAGF, indicated that the payments began on March 2, 2026.
The OAGF attributed the delay in salary disbursements to a technical issue that has since been resolved. The office also stated that measures have been implemented to prevent future occurrences of similar delays.
Additionally, the OAGF announced that it has received approval to pay one month of wage award arrears out of the three months still outstanding. This announcement follows growing complaints from Nigerian workers regarding delays in their February salaries.
