Nigeria’s embassy in South Africa briefly disconnected over unpaid electricity bill

Electricity Cut at Nigerian High Commission in South Africa Over Unpaid Bills

TSHWANE, South Africa — The Nigerian High Commission experienced a temporary loss of electricity Wednesday due to outstanding bills, according to the city’s executive mayor, Dr. Nasiphi Moya.

Dr. Moya announced on social media platform X that the power supply was disconnected after the diplomatic mission failed to meet its financial obligations. Hours later, she reported that electricity had been restored to the High Commission.
