Obi: ‘Stop This Tribalistic Talk’ – Media Personality, Latasha Ngwube Knocks Frank Edoho

Popular media personality, Latasha Ngwube has knocked her colleague, Frank Edoho, over his reaction to some Igbos who are against the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Naija News earlier reported that former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Chukwuma Charles Soludo, who currently serves as the Governor of Anambra State, berated Obi’s performance while he was a governor, stating that the investment Obi left in government is worth next to nothing today.

In another explosive publication on Monday, Soludo tackled the presidential candidate, saying he can’t win the 2023 presidential election.

Igbo Politician Will Never Stop Baffling Me

Reacting to Soludo’s statement, Edoho expressed disappointment via Twitter on Tuesday wondering why Igbo politicians do not support their own and do everything to thwart a rare opportunity for an Igbo presidency.

According to the TV Host, unlike the Yorubas and Hausas who pledge their support for their candidates, the Igbo do differently and seek to disrupt their own candidates.

Vote Competence Not Culture

Reacting to Frank Edoho’s statement, Latasha said his line of reasoning does not ‘track’ because she does not expect everyone from the three major tribes to support the presidential candidate from their tribe.

She further urged Frank to stop the tribalistic talk and vote for competence and not culture.

She wrote: “This line of reasoning does not track!!! I do not expect every Yoruba friend of mine to vote for Asiwaju just because he is Yoruba! I do not expect every Northern person I know to vote Atiku strictly because they too are from the North.

“Why should every igbo person support Peter Obi just because he is igbo? If PO becomes President will he be commander in chief of Igboland or an entire country made up of over 200 tribes??? Vote competence not culture!!! Stop this tribalistic talk!”

In another post, Latasha said people should call out Soludo for not recognizing Peter Obi’s achievements and legacy while in office and not debating on issues of the tribe.

She added that Nigeria would be in serious trouble if all politicians face only their kinsmen.

She wrote: “I’m against any line of thinking that will pull up ethnic lines and divides. You may call it wishful thinking but I want a unified country. As someone who has parents from different tribes yet was born and raised in another’s ethnic region, politicians backing each other out of tribal sentiments cannot bode well.

“Call Soludo out for not recognizing PO’s achievements and legacy while in office but to hinge his support on the fact that they are both Igbo is not the way to go. If all politicians faced only their kinsmen, Nigeria would be in serious trouble.”
