One unknown COVID result within cleared Aussie camp

Every person in Australia’s touring party, including players, family members and support staff, have returned a negative COVID-19 result after undergoing testing on Friday.

The announcement eases concerns of an outbreak in Australia’s camp, after Aussie middle-order batter Travis Head tested positive yesterday.

There were serious concerns for opener Marcus Harris, who dined with Head this week. Harris did not board the teams charter flight on Friday to New South Wales as a precautionary measure.

The test result of one family member is yet to be received, with Cricket Australia unsure when it will be returned due to extended wait times.

“All Australian squad members and support staff have received negative COVID-19 results from yesterday’s testing,” CA said in a statement.

“The result of one family member is outstanding.

“Given the long wait times currently there is no time frame for that result to be returned.”
