Oyo State Fire Service Rescues Two from Accident in Ibadan
IBADAN, Oyo State — The Oyo State Fire Service reported the successful rescue of two individuals following a collision involving a car and a petroleum tanker.
In a statement issued on Wednesday evening, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, Chairman of the Fire Service, provided details about the incident, which occurred at a Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) fueling station in the General Gas area of Ibadan.
According to Akinwande, the accident involved a Hyundai Sonata, registered EYCAMB 033, that collided with a stationary MACK trailer tanker, numbered TRN 311 ZG. The tanker was reported to be loaded with 45,000 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at the time of the collision, causing its contents to spill.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities reported in the incident. The two victims were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical care, as confirmed by Akinwande.
