Retired Teacher Killed in Ambush Near Farm in Oyo State
A 67-year-old retired teacher, Abel Atilola, was fatally attacked on Monday near his farm in Irawo, located in the Tede area of Atisbo Local Government, Oyo State.
Authorities report that Atilola was ambushed by unidentified assailants while tending to his farm. The retired educator had recently stepped down from his teaching career.
The incident has been officially reported to the police. Olayinka Ayanlade, the Public Relations Officer for the Oyo State Police Command, confirmed the murder and stated that an investigation is underway.
“Investigation into his murder has commenced,” Ayanlade said in a brief message. Further details regarding the circumstances of the attack and the identities of the suspects remain undisclosed.
