Parts of Nasarawa to experience blackout on Saturday - TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that some parts of Nasarawa state will experience a six-hour blackout on Saturday, June 21, over scheduled maintenance. 

 

TCN said in a statement on Friday, June 21, that the maintenance exercise will be carried out on its 40 megavolt-amperes (MVA) transformer at the Akwanga transmission substation.

 

It was also noted that the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) would be unable to offtake power from the transformer to  Akwanga Town, Wamba, Gudi, Garaku, Nasarawa Eggon, and its environs in the state. 

 

The statement read; 

 

“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) hereby states that its maintenance crew will carry out a planned annual preventive maintenance on its 40MVA Transformer at Akwanga Transmission Substation on Saturday, 22nd June, 2024 between the hours of 9:30am and 4:30pm.

“Consequently, Abuja DisCo will be unable to offtake power from the transformer for supply to Akwanga Town, Wamba, Gudi, Garaku, Nasarawa Eggon and it’s Environ.”

 

Power supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance is completed by 4.30 pm on June 22.
