Pele’s Last Social Media Post Before His Death Emerges

Football and Brazilian legend, Pele died on Thursday, 29th December at the age of 82 after battling colon cancer for some weeks.

His death has got the entire footballing community emotional with condolences pouring in from players, clubs, nations, and many other sources.

Amidst the reactions surrounding his death, the last social media (Instagram) post made by Pele before his death has resurfaced.

A quick check on his page by Naija News shows the last post by Pele was a celebration/congratulatory message on December 18 after Argentina won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Pele in the post, shared a photo of the Argentina national team celebrating with the FIFA World Cup trophy at Lusail Stadium in Qatar after beating France in the final.

He also praised Lionel Messi, Mbappe, and Morocco for their outstanding performances in the tournament.

He wrote; “Today, football continues to tell its story, as always, in an enthralling way. Messi winning his first World Cup, as his trajectory deserved. My dear friend, Mbappé, scoring four goals in a final. What a gift it was to watch this spectacle to the future of our sport. And I couldn’t fail to congratulate Morocco for the incredible campaign. It’s great to see Africa shine. Congratulations Argentina! Certainly Diego is smiling now.”
