The Edo State Police Command has arrested a Fulani herder for attempted m8rder of a 36-year-old farmer, Adi Benedith.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Moses Yamu, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, December 8, 2024, said the herder identified as Idris Ibrahim st@bbed the victim in the stomach on his farm located at Ugbaiyon village in Uhunmwode Local Government Area of the state.
“Following a distress call received by the Command on 03rd December 2024, that one Adi Benedith ‘m’ 36yrs was stabbed on the stomach by a Fulani herdsman at his farmland located at Ugbaiyon Village by Benin-Agbor Road, operatives of Okhuaihe Division mobilized to the scene and succeeded in arresting the herder named Idris Ibrahim ‘m’ 25yrs who attempted to flee the scene, while the injured victim was rushed to the hospital where he is currently receiving treatment,” the statement read.
“The suspect admitted commission of the crime and soon will be charged to court accordingly.
