Oyo State Police Arrest Two in Connection with Woman’s Murder
IBADAN, Nigeria — The Oyo State Police Command announced Friday that it has arrested two individuals in connection with the murder of a 62-year-old woman in Ibadan.
The arrests follow an incident that occurred on Wednesday in the Ori Apata area of Ido Local Government. According to police reports, the victim’s death raised suspicions and prompted an investigation.
In a statement signed by Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade, the police indicated that the body was transported to Adeoyo General Hospital for autopsy and further examination to determine the cause of death.
Preliminary investigations led to the identification and arrest of the suspects, Muhammed Sanusi, 42, and Ogbu James Ajah, 40, both residents of the Ori Apata area.
“The suspects are currently in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department and are cooperating with the ongoing investigation,” the statement noted. Authorities are also working to identify and apprehend any additional individuals involved in the crime.
