Police arrest two over theft of electricity transformers and cable wires in Edo

The Edo State Police Command has arrested two suspects over the theft of electricity transformers and cable wires in Benin City.

 

 

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Nemi Edwin-Iwo, disclosed this while parading the suspects at the police headquarters on Friday, September 27, 2024. 

 

 

According to Edwin-Iwo, KC Okojie Prince and Aruka Uche were arrested by operatives of X-Squad. 

 

“On 11/08/2024, a complaint was received that unknown person(s) deceitfully gain entrance to No. 8 Idugboe Estate, off Sapele road, Benin-city and made away with the following electrical equipment: one 300kva transformer, one 100kva transformer and two drums 2.5mm flex cable wire,” he stated. 

 

“Diligent investigation by operatives of X-Squad Benin-City led to the arrest of the culprit one KC Okojie Prince 50yrs who confessed to have committed the crime with one Ojo (surname unknown) who is now at large.

 

“He further led our operatives to the receiver of the stolen items, one Aruka Uche 40yrs and all the equipment were recovered at no. 5 Eben Street, off Akpakpava, Benin-City.
