Police in search of suspect over alleged fatal stabbing in Lamurde

Manhunt Launched for Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Incident in Adamawa State
LAMURDE, Adamawa State — The Adamawa State Police Command has initiated a manhunt for a suspect linked to the fatal stabbing of his cousin and injuries sustained by two others during a violent confrontation in the Tingno District.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Tuesday and was highlighted in a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X. It reportedly arose from a dispute between Begam Damdam and his cousin, Kawarijo Thomas, both of whom belong to the Garin Maitunku community.
Authorities allege that Damdam stabbed Thomas in the chest, resulting in his death. Additionally, Thomas Demdem and Robert Yohanna suffered injuries to their hands during the altercation.
Police received a distress call around 7 p.m. and promptly arrived at the scene. Upon assessment, the victims were transported to General Hospital, Numan. Despite medical efforts, Thomas was pronounced dead, and his body has been submitted for autopsy. The other two individuals are currently receiving treatment.
The police confirmed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect. The Criminal Investigation Department has been instructed to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
