Police intercepts illicit drugs concealed inside truck in Delta

Delta State Police Seize Large Drug Shipment, Arrest Suspects
Operatives with the Delta State Police Command recovered 1,520 packets of Tramadol and Swinol tablets on February 13, 2026. The drugs were found concealed beneath company machinery inside a truck during a routine stop-and-search operation.
The Eagle Net Special Squad intercepted a white J5 bus, registered as 7BGT 60LG, while patrolling the Asaba–Agbor Expressway near Northwest Filling Station. According to SP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, a thorough search led to the discovery of the illicit substances around 10:30 PM.
Two suspects were arrested at the scene: 30-year-old driver Ebuka Dominion from Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, and 30-year-old Emmanuel Terdule, a motor boy from Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the narcotics were meant for distribution. Based on information obtained during interrogations, police arrested a third suspect, 47-year-old Peter Etim Akpan from Nibiaya, Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, who is alleged to be the owner of the drugs.
The police are continuing their investigation to identify and apprehend additional members of the syndicate.
In separate operations aimed at reducing violent crime in the state, the police also arrested a suspected armed robber and cultist, seizing a firearm and intercepting additional illicit drugs.
On February 22, 2026, at around 3:20 PM, operatives from the CP Special Assignment Team arrested 23-year-old Collins Darlington in the Otor Uweku area of Ughelli town. The arrest followed credible intelligence regarding Darlington’s alleged involvement in a series of robberies in the Warri metropolis.
During questioning, Darlington led police to a locale in the Jedo area of Warri, where they found a locally made gun buried in the ground. He reportedly confessed to being a member of the Aye Confraternity and admitted to participation in multiple door-to-door robberies in the area.
Investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the criminal gang identified during these operations.
