Zamfara Police Recover Stolen Cattle Following Community Attack
The Zamfara State Police Command successfully recovered 15 cows taken by armed bandits during an attack on a community in the Gusau Local Government Area.
Details of the operation were released on social media platform X on Monday by security analyst Zagazola Makama. The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on February 15, when bandits invaded Gidan Kwagiri village in the Damba District, seizing cattle and sheep from local residents.
According to security sources, the Divisional Police Officer responsible for Damba Division quickly organized a response. Officers, along with patrol teams from the Department of Operations, pursued the attackers. They managed to recover 15 of the stolen cows during the operation, which were then returned to their rightful owners.
Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate the suspects and recover any remaining livestock. Additionally, security patrols in the area have been intensified to prevent further incidents.
