Inspector General of Police Calls for Enhanced Resources and Welfare
ABUJA – Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, has called on the Nigerian government to equip the police force with necessary resources to ensure citizen safety. Disu emphasized the importance of improving the welfare of police officers during a press conference at the Presidential Villa.
“What I want everyone to expect from me as IGP is that we will ensure our work is done properly,” Disu stated. He reiterated the need for government support, saying, “I implore the government to take care and provide equipment for men of the police force, as this serves as an encouragement to us.”
Disu was appointed IGP by President Bola Tinubu following the resignation of his predecessor, Kayode Egbetokun. After being confirmed by the Nigerian Police Council, Disu was sworn in on the same day.
