Qatar Intercepts Iranian Aircraft Amid Escalating Regional Tensions

DOHA, Qatar—The Qatari air force reported the successful interception of two Iranian fighter jets in the latest development amid heightened tensions following U.S.-Israeli military actions against Iran.

The Qatari Ministry of Defense announced Monday that it shot down two SU-24 aircraft and intercepted seven ballistic missiles and five drones launched from Iran.

“The threat was addressed immediately upon detection, in accordance with the operational plan, as all missiles were shot down before reaching their targets,” the ministry stated.

This incident follows Qatar’s condemnation of Iran for its “reckless and irresponsible” military actions that targeted Qatari territory in response to attacks from the United States and Israel, which have resulted in significant casualties in Iran.

In recent days, Iran has conducted a series of retaliatory attacks against multiple nations in the region, including Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.

Further updates will follow as the situation develops.
