Ralph Rangnick told to win FA Cup, secure top four spot as he

German coach, Ralph Rangnick has been granted a work permit to start his reign as Manchester United manager, the club announced on Thursday, December 2.

 

The 63-year-old will be introduced to the media on Friday and take charge of the team for the first time at Crystal Palace on Sunday this weekend.

“As all paperwork has now been completed, we will hold an in-person press conference with Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford at 9:00 am tomorrow morning,” said a United statement on it’s official website 

The club board has given him the target of top four qualification and winning the FA cup this season.

 

Rangnick was confirmed as Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s replacement on Monday but had to wait for a work permit from the UK government to begin his role at Old Trafford.

He was manager of sports and development at Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow before his appointment at Manchester United.

Caretaker manager, Michael Carrick will take charge for a third time against Arsenal at Old Trafford today December 2, after overseeing a Champions League win at Villarreal and a Premier League draw at Chelsea.

The club says Rangnick will remain as manager until the end of the season before starting a two-year consultancy role at United.
