Ramadan: Bauchi reduces working hours for civil servants

Bauchi State Governor Approves Revised Working Hours for Ramadan
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has approved a reduction in official closing hours for civil servants during the 2026 Ramadan fasting period.
The decision was outlined in a circular dated February 17, 2026, and signed by Ismail Ibn L. Garam, Director of Establishments in the Office of the Head of Civil Service. The circular was sent to the Chief of Staff at the Government House.
The adjustment is intended to allow Muslim civil servants to fully observe the practices of Ramadan and engage in religious activities throughout the holy month. According to the circular, civil servants will conclude work at 3:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, while the closing time of 1:00 p.m. on Fridays remains unchanged.
The circular also encouraged employees to use the Ramadan period for prayers focused on the progress, development, and peaceful coexistence of both Bauchi State and the nation.
The new working hours will be in effect from the beginning to the end of the 1447 AH/2026 Ramadan fasting period.
