Republicans Hit Back At ‘Unity President’ Biden’s Neanderthal Insult

Republicans are firing back at President Joe Biden after he insulted states opening up and discarding drastic COVID restrictions as adherents of “neanderthal thinking.”

On Wednesday, Biden insulted Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas and Gov. Tate Reeves of Mississippi as they announced that they would begin to roll back mask mandates and other COVID safety measures.

As Biden explained the current situation on vaccine availability, he made the comments,”We’ve been able to move that all the way up to the end of May to have enough [vaccines] for every American, to get every adult American to get a shot. The last thing we need is the Neanderthal thinking.”

Gov. Reeves announced all restrictions would begin to be lifted by Wednesday. Gov. Abbott stated all state restrictions would begin to be rolled back in Texas starting March 10.

What Republicans Have To Say About Being Called ‘Neanderthals’

After Biden made the comments, several Republicans were quick to defend the actions of the governors and the mean-spirited rhetoric in general when speaking about the Republican Party and conservatives.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), a frequent outspoken voice against the Biden administration, had this to say,

“What a uniter Joe Biden is. You know this is Mr. Unity. And yet if you disagree with him you’re a Neanderthal. This is a guy who’s also called people who disagree with him Nazis. It is unbelievable. In Missouri we’re kind of used to this because we are called by the D.C. crowd ‘flyover country,’ so we’ve gotten this treatment for years but the truth is there’s nothing wrong with actually following the science and allowing people to make their own decisions.

Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) also had harsh words for Biden. He said that the President was “essentially calling his political opponents ‘stupid.’ Waltz did not hold back:

“Let me tell you what Neanderthal thinking is, Neanderthal thinking is keeping our schools closed, letting our kids fall further and further behind. Maybe Neanderthal thinking is letting restaurants put people in tents while they’re sitting outside but they can’t let them inside or not putting seniors first when it comes to our vaccines … What Neanderthal thought it was a good idea to allow infected seniors back into nursing homes when it was clearly the most exposed and vulnerable population?”

Harkening Back To The ‘Basket Of Deplorables’

Members of Congress were not the only ones to call out President Biden on his comments.

During an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany compared Biden’s “Neanderthal” comment to Hillary Clinton’s “deplorable” description of Trump supporters during the 2016 presidential election.

She also made reference to GOP strategist Rick Wilson, who called Trump supporters “credulous boomer rubes.”

Of Biden’s comments, McEnany said, “Simply giving freedoms causes Joe Biden – the great uniter – to call us Neanderthals among other words that his predecessor Hillary Clinton did as well.”

Senator Marco Rubio turned the tables on Biden by using the popular ‘social justice warrior’ talking points currently so popular on the left:

Disarray In The Biden Administration?

The Biden administration may have bigger things to worry about than a back-and-forth name calling session with Republicans.

The President has yet to even schedule a date for the State of the Union address. On Jan. 14, he stated he would lay out the “build back better” recovery plan before a joint session of Congress “next month.”

Another curiosity of the Biden administration is that we are 43 days into the new administration, there has also not been a press conference with the President scheduled.

White House Secretary Jen Psaki’s only statement regarding any upcoming press conferences is, “We will definitely have one. We will schedule it, and you’ll be the first to know because you’re pivotal participants in that.”

The crisis on the southern border also continues to worsen, but the Biden administration refuses to even call it a crisis. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas commented on Monday that, “We are challenged at the border. It is a stressful challenge.”

According to an Axios report, DHS projects there will be 117,000 unaccompanied children crossing into the United States this year.
