Residents of Sabo GRA in Kaduna scamper for safety as security personnel exchange gunfire with invading bandits for hours

Residents of Sabo GRA in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna metropolis on Saturday, December 11, had to flee their homes for hours after suspected bandits engaged security agents in a hot gun battle.

 

According to reports, the residents woke up to gunfire at about 3am as the bandits numbering about 30 with some in military gear and bearing dangerous weapons, attempted to invade their residence to carry out their nefarious activities.

 

The police and other security personnel were immediately alerted and a hot gunfire exchange thwarted the bandits’ intentions. The assailants then resorted to setting some of the houses on fire before they took to their heels.

 

In a related development, suspected bandits kidnapped a woman and her four (4) children to an unknown destination at oil village in the same Sabo Location.

 

Confirming both incidents, the spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Muhammed Jalige, said an investigation into both cases has since commenced while effort is ongoing to facilitate safe rescue of the victims.
