Rivers: ‘My oga did it’ – Fubara vows to complete Port Harcourt Ring Road initiated by Wike

Governor Fubara Commits to Completing Port Harcourt Ring Road Project
RIVERS STATE—Governor Siminalayi Fubara has pledged to finish the Port Harcourt Ring Road project, which was initiated by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. Despite political differences, Fubara emphasized the importance of realizing the project’s vision.
Following an inspection of the project site, Fubara recognized Wike as the mastermind behind the endeavor, referring to him as “my oga.” He noted that discussions with contractors reveal that progress is being made, but adequate funding and ongoing government support are crucial at this stage.
“The contractors have assured us that the project will be delivered by October this year. From my assessment, what they need is funding, and from my end, the push,” Fubara stated.
The governor expressed confidence that a commitment made to the people of Rivers State will be honored. “I strongly believe we will deliver on our promise by October, God willing. This project is of great importance to me,” he added.
Fubara attributed the project’s concept to Wike, highlighting the minister’s ambitious vision. “He conceived this project because he believed that if it were achieved quickly, Rivers people would be happy with me,” he remarked.
Despite any past events, Fubara reiterated his personal commitment to seeing the project through to completion. “Notwithstanding whatever happened, it is my wish and my struggle to ensure that this vision comes to reality,” he concluded.
