Security Guard Arrested for Alleged Assault on Pupil in Aba

A security guard employed at a private school in Aba, Abia State, has been arrested following allegations that he assaulted a three-year-old student. The incident reportedly occurred on Friday afternoon at a location on Umuosi Road near Ibadan Road, after school hours.

According to witnesses, the child was left waiting for her parents when the suspect allegedly lured her to a secluded area of the school and assaulted her. The victim began to walk in visible pain, which drew the attention of nearby residents, including Brian Ogukwe.

Ogukwe stated that a closer examination by the girl’s parents and other community members confirmed the allegations. This prompted immediate reports to the school’s management and local police.

“The security guard was pleading for forgiveness, claiming that the devil made him do it,” Ogukwe said. “However, he was taken into custody by the police.”

The young victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital for medical care. Her parents are reportedly seeking justice for their daughter.

Abia State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Maureen Chinaka confirmed that an investigation is underway at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Umuahia.
