See trailer for upcoming Africa Magic Original, 'Uriri,' premiering this December

Africa Magic Productions has released the official trailer for its newest series, Uriri, premiering December 30, 2024.

Following the success of the Netflix series Shanty Town, which became the most-watched TV show on the streaming platform for 2023, and having worked on a plethora of shows and telenovela series including Ajoche, Jemeji, Unbroken and Dilemma, the seasoned screenwriter and producer, Xavier Ighorodje is set to launch a new show under the Africa Magic Network.

Uriri: Book 1 takes viewers to 14th-century Urhobo land, weaving an epic tale of a legendary wrestler who must confront his inner demons and embrace a destiny fraught with immense challenges and profound love.

Spanning 39 captivating episodes, the series is co-directed by Usman Olarotimi “Blackky” Ogunlade and David “Gee” Ahanmisi.

Although majorly in English, the series is enriched with the Urhobo dialect, offering a unique cultural authenticity that enhances its storytelling.

Ufuoma Precious Gabari is the cultural consultant for the project.
