Kano State Government Initiates Toll Gate Construction at Key Entry Points
KANO, Nigeria — The Kano State Government has officially handed over seven sites to contractors for the construction of toll gates at major entry points into the state. The announcement was made by Ibrahim Yakubu Adamu, the state’s Commissioner for Housing Development, during a recent handover ceremony.
Adamu indicated that the project is part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing security measures and promoting socio-economic activities within the region. “The state government is determined to improve the security apparatus through effective monitoring of vehicular movement into the state,” he stated.
He emphasized the commitment to establishing toll gates on all major roads leading to the city to bolster both security and economic growth in Kano State. Adamu urged contractors to adhere to the project timelines, reiterating that the initiative is designed to protect lives and property.
The designated sites for the toll gates are located along Daura Road, Katsina Road, Gwarzo Road, Zaria Road, Maiduguri Road, Hadejia Road, and Sa’adatu Rimi Road.
