However, few viewers expected Shadows House to become one of the most intriguing programmes on the whole schedule, tantalising fans with brilliantly intriguing characters and a cryptic plotline.

Shadows House Anime Season 2 Summer Release Date, Episode 1 And Trailer

The release window for Shadows House season 2 was officially confirmed to be Summer 2022 in a brand new teaser trailer at the Anime-Japan 2022 event; now, the particular debut date has been disclosed.

CloverWorks Was Quick To Announce That Season 2 Was In The Works

CloverWorks animation company officially renewed Shadows House for season 2 on September 11th, 2021. The news was made during a special live-streamed event in Japan before the franchise’s Japanese website posted a teaser trailer for the sequel season.

While the news of a second season was highly appreciated, it was not entirely anticipated. Anime renewals are often determined by two factors: source content and popularity, both of which Shadows House have in plenty.

According to Anime Geek, up until volume 4 chapter 47 of the original manga series, season 1 episode 12 was translated. The good news is that 10 complete manga volumes with 132 chapters have been released in Japan as of this writing.

Unfortunately, Funimation did not provide official ratings for its simulcast series, making it difficult to determine Shadows House’s global popularity.

The anime, however, has clearly proven successful enough to warrant a second season, with Shadows House now getting a strong 7.3/10 on IMDB and 7.75/10 on MyAnimeList, with over 66,000 reviews.

There had previously been complaints regarding Shadows House season 2 since the anime adaptation did not properly follow the text and went entirely off-script for various episodes. Fans were apprehensive that the very popular latter portions of the manga would not be translated. Thankfully, the manga’s author answered these concerns, revealing that the alterations were made expressly because the anime needed to be altered to portray the tale appropriately.

The Release Date For Shadows House Season 2 Has Been Confirmed

Shadows House season 2 was officially announced in a press release via Anime News Network on January 5th, 2022, that it will premiere in July 2022, as part of the Summer programming slate.

The official Japanese Twitter page for the anime stated this week that season 2 episode 1 will launch on July 8th, 2022 — however with a midnight premiere, this technique implies a July 9th debut.

The series debuted a trailer for the second transmission during AnimeJapan 2022, with the subtitle “There is still a secret in this building.” Fans should be aware that Crunchyroll has yet to clarify whether or not they will be simulcasting Season 2 of Shadows House. However, following its merger with Funimation earlier this year, the streaming site is likely to show the upcoming season.

The anime adaptation was initially unveiled in October 2020 and will air as part of the Spring anime schedule in April 2021. Many fans had expected the series to resume in April 2022, but we won’t complain about the little divergence from the Summer schedule.

The new opening theme song, “Shall We Dance?” will be sung by Reona (who previously performed the first season’s conclusion), while the new ending theme, “Masquerade,” will be performed by ClariS.
