Singer 2Face Idibia Reacts As PDP Senators Threaten To Impeach Buhari

Nigerian legendary singer, Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2baba has reacted to the threat by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senators to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari if he fails to resolve the heightened insecurity across the country within six weeks.

In a video shared on Instagram, 2Face accused elected politicians of using the President as a convenient excuse for their failures.

According to the African Queen crooner, everyone including the Governors, Police IG, House of Reps and Senators is sharing their responsibilities in a convenient space and pointing to the president for wrongs.

He said: “I dey see for news, they say they wan impeach Buhari based on only one reason. Everybody just hides behind this very convenient space and that convenient space na say everything na president people day point.

Meanwhile, we get governors, we get senators, we get House of Reps, we get IG of police, we get commandants, we get citizens, everybody are sharing their responsibilities hiding behind that very convenient space, everything president.”

PDP Impeachment Threat Is Ridiculous Move

The presidency rubbished the attempt by some senators PDP to initiate impeachment proceedings against President Muhammadu Buhari during plenary.

In a statement on Wednesday by the special adviser to the President on media and publicity, Garba Shehu said the move was ridiculous.

Describing the PDP lawmakers as babies who only wanted media attention, Shehu urged them to focus on how to support the executive in nation-building.

He also praised Senate President Ahmad Lawan for preventing the move which eventually resulted in a walk-out by the affected Senators.
