Three Suspected Cable Thieves Arrested in Ogun State

IJEBU-ODE, Ogun State — Three individuals suspected of cable theft were arrested by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, commonly known as the So-Safe Corps, in the Ijagun area.

The suspects—30-year-old Adeleje Okunuga, 31-year-old Wale Mosadoluwa, and 33-year-old Anifowose Michael—were apprehended early Monday while traveling towards Ijagun. According to Soji Ganzallo, the Corps Commander, the suspects were taken into custody by the Special Squad of the Ijebu Zonal Command during a routine patrol.

During interrogation, one suspect allegedly admitted to participating in cable theft activities since 2023. He reportedly indicated that an accomplice, currently incarcerated, had instructed him to retrieve tools from a concealed location.

Authorities recovered several items from the suspects, including a large cutter, pliers, a screwdriver, and a motorcycle.

Ganzallo stated that the suspects, along with the recovered items, have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at the Igbeba Area Command for further investigation and potential prosecution.
