South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs told to appoint Nigeria’s Sunday Oliseh as head coach

Mamadou Gaye Recommends Sunday Oliseh as Coach for Kaizer Chiefs
Football analyst Mamadou Gaye has suggested that Kaizer Chiefs consider appointing former Nigeria national team manager Sunday Oliseh as their next head coach.
Kaizer Chiefs have been seeking a permanent coach since the departure of Nasreddine Nabi last October. In the interim, the club has appointed Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze to guide the team for the remainder of the 2025-2026 season.
During an appearance on SuperSport’s Soccer Africa, Gaye expressed his expectation for a professional club like Kaizer Chiefs to have a full-time coach. “All the top clubs in the world can’t go eight months or one year with a caretaker coach,” he said.
Gaye named Oliseh as a potential candidate, adding, “I’m just throwing out a name; there are many out there.” Currently a free agent, Oliseh has managed several clubs, including Verviétois, Fortuna Sittard, and SV 19 Straelen.
