Storm humiliate Warriors with historic win

It was 4-all just moments ago, but now the Storm leads by 10 points with just over 10 minutes remaining in the first half.

All three of Melbourne’s tries have come from mistakes by the Warriors.

Warriors winger Edward Kosi has committed two of his own, with the first being a costly knock-on in attacking territory, which was scooped up by Ryan Papenhuyzen before Jahrome Hughes finished off a 95-mete try.

After the Warriors hit back through Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Kosi then made another error not long after when he failed to ground a Melbourne attacking kick in the in-goal.

Kosi’s failed attempt to ground the ball resulted in an easy put down for Xavier Coates.

Just minutes after that, a no-look pass from playmaker Shaun Johnson resulted in an intercept try to Nick Meaney.

“A big mistake again gifts Melbourne four more points, Meaney can’t believe it!” said Fox League commentator Warren Smith after Melbourne’s third try.

Cooper Cronk during the half-time break added: “The fact Warriors have had three errors and the Melbourne Storm have scored directly off all those errors… they will need to clean that area up.”

Not the start Warriors fans would’ve liked.
