Suspected terrorists attack Yobe town, set market ablaze

Boko Haram Suspected in Attack on Geidam Town, Yobe State
Geidam, Yobe State — Assailants believed to be affiliated with Boko Haram launched an attack on Geidam town last night, resulting in significant damage to the local market.
Witnesses reported large flames consuming several sections of the market. One individual, who requested anonymity, stated, “As I am talking to you now, the market is on fire, but I cannot confirm the details because I am currently hiding.”
Sources have indicated that the attackers also set fire to vehicles belonging to local vigilantes. Geidam, the administrative center of the Gaidam local government area, has previously been targeted in attacks linked to the Boko Haram insurgency.
As of this morning, security agencies had not released an official statement regarding the incident.
