Ademola Adeleke sacked as Governor of Osun state

Senator Ademola Adeleke has been sacked as Governor of Osun state by an Election Petition Tribunal chaired by Justice Tertse Kume.

The tribunal sacked Adeleke following claims of overvoting in some polling units across the State.

In the majority judgement issued by two judges against one, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ordered that the Certificate of Return issued to Adeleke be withdrawn and issued to Adegboyega Oyetola.

Davido’s uncle and Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke shows off football skills

The former senator representing Osun-west senatorial district celebrated a special occasion with a football match.

The governor was in attendance at the final of the Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke Memorial football Cup competition.

The governor was given the honor of kicking off the main event at the Osogbo city stadium on Sunday, January 15.

The dancing governor as he is called seized the opportunity to show off his unique skills to get the game started.

The governor is the uncle to famous Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

Adeleke took to social media to share photos from the football game in honor of his late brother who was the first civilian governor of Osun state.

Along with the photos was a message that said, “Yesterday, I led members of the Adeleke Dynasty and dignitaries to honor the memories of my elder brother the first civilian Governor of Osun State, Otunba Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke at the final of the annual football competition, Osogbo City Stadium.

“As a sports lover, I want to state that we will develop sports in Osun State, We shall rehabilitate our stadium to an international standard. Before our hundred days in office, the people of Osun will see the difference.”

After the kick-off, the governor danced to songs by his nephew and at the end of the game presented the finalists with awards.

He made a speech to the crowd on the importance of sports to his administration which is expected to be a priority in the state for the next four years of his tenure.

Oyetola took N18billion loan after losing election and it will take Osun state 28 years to repay ? Gov. Ademola Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke says his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola, took a loan of N18 billion after losing the governorship election in the state.

The governor on Thursday, Dec. 15, said the state is indebted to the tune of N407.32 billion.

Speaking with traditional rulers in Osogbo, Adeleke said Oyetola must explain why the state is owing N76 billion in salaries and pensions after receiving N50 billion salary bailout from the federal government.

Adeleke said his administration inherited eight loan facilities alongside pension and debts, adding that the repayment period of the loans ranges from 16 months to 28 years.

He said: “My good people of Osun State, the total loan stock as of today is N331.32billion.

“If the N76 billion debt on salaries and pension are added, the state is indebted to the tune of N407.32 billion. The amount owed to contractors is yet to be determined.

“The only fund in government coffers, as of Monday 29th November, was for November 2022 Salary. Otherwise, the state treasury was empty.

“As your governor, I will ask questions on your behalf and will demand answers,” Adeleke told the traditional rulers.

He added, “Governor Oyetola must explain how the N331 Billion borrowed in the name of Osun State was expended, with no obvious infrastructural development to justify this huge debt.

“Governor Oyetola must explain how the N18 Billion Bridge Loan taken after he lost the election on July 16, 2022, was expended.

“Governor Oyetola must also explain why Osun State is owing salaries and pension to the tune of N76 Billion after collecting a N50 Billion Salary Bail Out Loan from the Federal Government.

“The creditors, especially the Commercial Banks must explain why various loans were given to an administration beyond its four-year tenure. 28 years is equivalent to the tenure of at least four governors. A child that is born today would have earned a Ph.D. at 28 years of age. This is nothing but mortgaging the future of Osun State with nothing to show for it. This is definitely not acceptable.”

Nollywood actor cum movie director, Muyiwa Ademola has been left an emotional wreck after crossing a ‘fragile bridge’ in acting.

Muyiwa Authentic as he’s fondly called took to Instagram to share a clip from a movie project he is currently working on, capturing the moment, he and other actors broke down in tears while interpreting an emotional character in the role.

According to the actor, they went too deep into the character interpretation which inadvertently left them wrecked emotionally.

The video captured everyone on set, weeping like babies, including the actor. The producer was forced to halt production until the actors stopped crying.

Sharing the scene in his Interview, Ademola wrote: “There is a bridge you dare not cross in acting. Yes, we are aware of this fact but sometimes we could not control not going near it.

“We crossed the bridge tonight! We went too deep and we couldn’t return on time! @omoalausa1 ignited the fire and putting it out was difficult.

“Everyone couldn’t control their tears including our director. This moment was even after we finished filming the scene and I was trying to console Mama @fisayomi_abebi and I slipped into it again.

“Separating acting from our real life sometimes becomes difficult, hence this outpouring of emotions.

“This wasn’t acting, this was us getting humbled!.”

Dancing for 30 seconds doesn’t imply that he is UNSERIOUS…..PRESIDENT BUHARI NEVER DANCES , he is always TOO SERIOUS, but he has taken Nigeria 100 steps BACKWARD….. GOVERNOR WIKE always jokes and sings, yet he has taken RIVERS state 1 million steps FORWARD through his massive infrastructural projects…I BELIEVE DANCING GOVERNOR WILL PERFORM EXCELLENTLY….. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER.
