Popular On Air Personality, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, also known as Nedu Wazobia, has shared his reservation concerning female choristers.

According to Nedu, the outward appearance of ladies in the choir does not always match their true character.

The actor stated this during a chat on Naija FM’s ‘Across the Bridge’ show.

He recounted his personal experience with a lady in the choir whom he thought was a virgin.

He narrated how his friend discouraged him from engaging the girl based on her ungodly activities during night rehearsals at the church.

Nedu argued that the girls in the choir are sometimes not godly.

According to him, “I said I want to engage the girl. He said why? He said he gave me the girl to ‘chop’.

“I said no, the girl is a virgin. He shouted ‘Which virgin?’ He said sometimes when they are at all-night rehearsals, they will be on stage. The girl has a guy that comes through the back. He said they will be at the back.

“Sometimes they will hear moaning sounds. When he goes nearer, he would hear the same moaning sound, but much louder. Is that one a virgin?

“My brother, fear every girl wey dey choir. But some are very, very wonderful.”

Popular Nigerian singer, Ade Ebenezer aka Olakira, has narrated how his entanglement with four female choristers led to his expulsion from the choir.

He explained that the experience affected him even after he became a secular artist.

Olakira stated that he had to undertake a therapy session last year to clear his head.

The ‘Maserati’ crooner said this during a recent interview on TVC’s programme, Wake Up Nigeria.

Asked why he “disappeared” for almost three years after releasing his hit song ‘Maserati’, ” Olakira said, “I had my own issues as well. I got depressed at some point. I was unable to focus at some point

“I was a gospel artist some years back. And I had some experience with ladies. I was in a choir and I had stuff with about four choristers and I was sacked from the church.

“And, when I came into the secular world, the whole thing was just crowded. It was a lot. I actually travelled for a bit to calm down. I took a therapy. I need to get out of that space because it is very distracting.

“I was raised by a single mother. So, I feel more comfortable around ladies than guys.”

These denominations have also assembled their individual choir to chase the top prize of N2 million and a trophy. There are also cash prizes, plaques and trophies for the second and third place; along with consolation awards for every participating choir.

Convener of the National Hymn Festival, Nigeria’s Reggae gospel star and author, Buchi Atuonwu explained the vision, “With the National Hymn Festival, we will not only revive the singing of hymns, we will bring together the churches of Jesus Christ under one roof. Every song has a spirit, has a story, has its essence. It is time to unite the church through hymns. On one leg, we are revitalizing our worship through hymns. On the other leg is the unity of the church.”

Working with known music ministers like Dr. Panam Percy Paul, Joe Praize and Ada, the Convener of the National Hymn Festival will lead the congregation in popular hymns. Buchi strongly believes that he is led by Spirit of God to break down the barriers of segregation and disunity which promoted exclusivity among the denominations; making them look like cults.

“The enemies of the church have taken up arms against the church seeing that we are disunited. They are convinced that if they burn down a Catholic church the people in the Redeemed church may not do much. They are convinced that if they hit the Methodist church or kidnap the Prelate of the Methodist church, nobody will take up arms in his defense because we are disunited and they know. This disunity has caused too much. We have presented ourselves as weak and vulnerable.”

The National Hymn Festival is Buchi’s way of ensuring that these great hymns that built us up and sustained our faith, inspired us to do things and to live for Jesus Christ are not allowed to die.

Former housemate in the Big Brother Naija reality show, Ifu Ennada has attacked social media users who condemned her for wearing bikini as a Christian.

Recall that Ennada who was called devilish following her skull outfit to the just concluded AMVCA award, claimed that she is a born again Christian.

The reality star was called out again after she posted her bikini picture on her Instagram account.

She asked her critics to send her asoebi or agbada so that she can dress appropriately.

The reality star further stated that this is why ‘we hear that some pastors are sleeping with church members.’

She asked everyone to run their heavenly race separately and allow God decide who is holy and who is not.

Ennada took her Instagram story and wrote, “Christians that say I ‘m not born again because I wear bikini by the pool, pls send me asoebi or Agbada so that I can dress appropriately.

“This is why you hear of pastors sleeping with choir/church members, etc. Y’all should run your heavenly race and let me run mine. Let God decide who is holy and who isn’t

“The holier than thou Christians are usually the ones who do the worst behind closed doors. The unbelievable ones are the Assistant Jesuses who feel you are doing something wrong, but then go ahead to correct you with insults

“Is that how you were taught to win souls? You want someone to be like you who lacks love but oozes bitterness and envy? Una never serious.”
