Popular media personality and TV host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, has opened up on the reason he does not enjoy his birthdays.

Uchendu explained that he mostly reflects on his life journey during birthday anniversaries.

The reality TV host, who turned 41 on July 14, 2023, disclosed this on Channels TV’s programme, Rubbin’ Minds, co-hosted by reality stars, Beauty Tukura and Prince Nelson.

According to him, when he looks at his life, he feels there is still more to be achieved.

He said, “I think everybody who knows me, knows that I don’t generally enjoy my birthday.

“I think it is a lot of just self-reflections I do and they get me in this space where I’m like, there is still so much more to achieve.

“So, I get very deep in my head just trying to figure out… Sometimes, months before it [my birthday] sef, I will be like, Ah! God, this thing is coming again.

“But I think this one [my 41st birthday] was a little lighter than the usual because I had a quiet day for the most part. Yeah, it wasn’t bad.”

Popular media personality, Ebuka Uchendu has disclosed his all-time favourite housemates in the Big Brother Naija reality TV show.

According to Uchendu, his favourites are the housemates who ended up surprising him.

The reality TV host stated this during Channels TV’s programme, Rubbin’ Minds, co-hosted by reality stars, Beauty Tukura and Prince Nelson.

He opined that those who exhibited a lot of drama in the show won his heart.

Ebuka, however, expressed dislike for participants who came into the show and made no effort in making it exciting.

He wondered how one would go on a  reality TV show with no game plan, considering that there is money to be won.

Ebuka said, “I can give you a number of people [my favourite BBNaija housemates]. There was Gideon who was in my season. He was amazing. I have liked everybody who surprised me because I got a lot of your profiles before the show starts and I think, ‘This person go dry’. So, the ones who ended up going in and I’m like, ‘Wow! Okay, I didn’t see that coming.’ And you [Beauty] were one of them because I thought you were going to be a dead babe but you were not so dead [laughs].

“So, that was a little surprising. People that give me drama. You [Prince], I don’t know if your drama was intentional, but you had a community around you [laughs].

“I have also enjoyed people who played the game… I have given you three names [of my all-time BBNaija favourites] already. One thing I’ve grown to like a lot less over the seasons are people who come in and say, ‘I was just myself.’ It’s a good thing, but I also say that there is money to be won, how do you not come in with a game plan?

“I always feel like, if you are coming to win a N100 million, whatever it is, there should be some plan. And we don’t get that very often. Pere gave us a bit of that, then sort of disappeared at some point when I dragged him small and he sort of chilled. I like people who play the game and sticked with it. Miracle did that quiet a bit. Miracle and Tobi in their season. They had a bit of competition that was very interesting. But they also had woman matter around them.”

Famous Nigeria reality TV show host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has taken a swipe at the organizers of the Big Brother Naija reality show for not allowing him to participate with other housemates in this year’s edition of BBNaija.

Naija News reports that the organizers of the Big Brother Reality show have announced that the 2023 edition will kick off in a couple of weeks on July 23, 2023.

According to the organizers, the eighth edition of the reality show features an all-star affair featuring former housemates.

The show’s winner, which will run for 70 days until October 1, will walk away with ₦‎120 million.

Taking to his social media page, Ebuka, one of the first BBNaija housemates, which premier in 2006, finishing in eighth place, announced his desire to be part of the show as he also wanted to secure the winning prize.

To mark her husband’s birthday, she posted a video montage on her Instagram page. The montage contained pictures and videos of the media personality.

Their two daughters, Jeweluchi and Irubinachi featured in the cute clip, wishing their father a happy birthday and praying for him.

Cynthia’s caption was heart-melting as she doted on her hubby, calling him thoughtful, kind, and amazing.

She also appreciated the fact that he is a present father to their children. “Happy birthday to the love of my life, my best friend. No amount of words can describe how amazing you are. Thank you for being thoughtful, kind, giving, and present,” it read.

Going further, she prayed for him, saying, “You’ve only just scratched the surface of what is to come. I wish you good healthy long life. May all your heart’s desires come true. Have a blessed day boo.”

In April 2015, he proposed to Cynthia at a private dinner in Lagos and later that year, in October, they had their engagement and wedding ceremonies.
