Five-storey building under construction collapses in Apapa

A five-storey building under construction collapsed in Apapa, Lagos state, on Sunday, April 23.

 

Eyewitnesses claim the building collapsed due to a thunder strike orchestrated by heavy rainfall.

 

The collapsed building was located on 45, Ladipo Oluwole Street, GRA Apapa area of the state. This incident comes few days after a seven-story building collapsed in Banana Island area of the state. It was gathered that no casualties were recorded as all the workers at the site had gone to their homes for the Sallah break.

Fire guts five-storey building at Balogun market (video)

A fire outbreak has been reported in a five-storey building in Balogun market, Lagos state.

 

The fire affected the “topmost floor” of Plaza 32 building where shoes are sold.

 

Confirming the incident, Jubril Gawat, a media aide Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said: “The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently attending to a Fire outbreak at the famous Balogun Market which involved the topmost floor of a five storey building.

 

“The Fire is however under control as mitigation are on to limit its spread.”

No casualties have been recorded at the moment.
