The reality star could not contain her joy during the prize presentation ceremony on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. She happily thanked her fans, her fellow housemates, as well as the organisers of the show, vowing to make them proud.

Giddily, she said, “Thank you guys so much, I’m really happy to be your winner and to my housemates, thank you, thank you, guys, so much. I promise to make you guys proud, I promise not to disappoint you guys. I promise to make sure I make good use of the money, thank you, guys, so much, I love you guys.”

Before giving her acceptance speech, Ilebaye noted that reality has not fully set in on the fact that she won the show. Speaking to the host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, she revealed what was going through her mind at the crowning moment when she was announced the winner.

She said, “I’m still trying to adapt to every moment. When I heard my name I was super excited and I couldn’t believe it, then I saw my parents and I was just running towards them. I haven’t slept at all.”

Ilebaye Precious Odiniya was dubbed the winner of the All Stars season of Big Brother Naija on Sunday, October 1, 2023, after 10 gruelling weeks in the house, holding her own in the in-house games and activities. By winning, she is going home the prize, a weekend getaway for two with Travel Better, one one-year supply of Pepsi, WAW products, Much it, Hawai, and Lush hair products amongst other things.

Congratulations are in order.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou says he is ‘overjoyed’ at the impact made by James Maddison since he signed from Leicester earlier this summer and believes there is ‘more to come’ from the midfielder.

Maddison, a £40 million signing from the Foxes, wore a protective boot after picking up a minor injury in last weekend’s 2-0 win over Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and was restricted during the week.

North Melbourne president Sonja Hood will make her first appearance at the football this season on Good Friday after being declared cancer free.

In a letter published on the club’s website on Wednesday afternoon, Hood said she had received the all-clear after being diagnosed with breast cancer in February.

The Kangaroos boss will be at Docklands Stadium as North Melbourne searches for its third win of the season in a game against GWS on Friday afternoon.

Her treatment for breast cancer involved undergoing a mastectomy and tissue reconstruction, and she’ll be on medication for the next five to 10 years “to reduce the chances of it coming back”, she wrote.

“It’s been a whirlwind. Although I’m overjoyed at the result, it’s been a couple of months I’d prefer not to repeat. I also know that if we hadn’t found it when we did, this could be a very different outcome,” Hood added.

“So please, if you need to go and get tested — do it.”

North Melbourne’s Good Friday game doubles as a fundraiser for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

“I’m asking as many of you as possible to come along. Let’s fill Marvel Stadium with the royal blue and white so we can break the record crowd of 48,278 for this fixture,” Hood wrote.

“And most importantly, let’s give the kids and their families something to really smile about.”

Hood pulled off a massive coup when she landed four-time premiership-winning coach Alastair Clarkson in August last year, securing his signature on a five-year deal.

The appointment of Clarkson followed the axing of David Noble in July.

North Melbourne is placed seventh on the ladder ahead of round four, following a five-point win against West Coast, a one-point victory over Fremantle and a 19-point loss to Hawthorn.

The Kangaroos are aiming to avoid copping three wooden spoons in succession.
