The police in Niger state have arrested five suspects for being in possession of a human skull. 

 

The suspects identified as 26-year-old Isah Mohammed; 28-year-old Idris Mohammed; 18-year-old Ibrahim Jiya; 22-year-old Suleiman Usman and 24-year-old Abdullahi Usman confessed they dug out the three-year corpse of one Ndako Daniyan from the Sakpe village burial ground in Edati local government area of Niger state.

 

When interrogated, Isah and Abdullahi confessed that they met an Islamic Cleric, Alfa Suleiman, who is from Kwara State in Bida in their quest to get rich quickly and he told them to get a human skull which would be used for rituals.

 

The duo said that they were directed to take the skull to someone around the Kpakungun area in Minna with N30,000 and were on their way when apprehended by the Police.

“We went to the burial ground in Sakpe village and we dug up the body. From what we saw, the person had been dead for three years and he was from Sakpe village. The reason why we did this is because we want to be rich. It is not easy living in Nigeria. Life is hard and we want to be rich so that we will leave this poverty and life of hardship,” Isah said

 

Confirming their arrest, the spokesperson of the Niger Police command,  DSP Abiodun Wasiu, said that Isah Mohammed and Idris Mohammed were arrested on the 11th of September by operatives of a sister security agency on routine patrol at the toll-gate along Bida-Minna road. He said that the suspects were intercepted in a Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle, adding that the skull was discovered wrapped in a bag in the course of searching the passengers.

 

Abiodun stated during interrogation, the suspects said three other people aided in digging the grave where the skull was exhumed which led to the arrest of three other 

 

He added that the five suspects have been transferred to SCID Minna for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution as the case is under investigation.

The Niger State Police Command has arrested five people caught with a human skull for money ritual purposes.

 

The suspects told police that they were sent by an Alfa to bring the skull.

 

Spokesman of the command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, made this known in a statement issued on Friday, Sept. 22. He added that the whereabouts of the Alfa could not be ascertained.

Abiodun said that two of the suspects, Isah Mohammed, 26, and Idris Mohammed, 28, both of Sakpe village, Edati LGA, were earlier arrested, and they took them to the other three suspects.

 

The statement reads: “On 11th of this month, at about 12:30 operatives of a sister security agency, while on routine patrol at toll-gate along Bida-Minna road intercepted a Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle, and in the course of searching the passengers, two suspects were arrested.

 

“The two suspects were found in possession of a human skull wrapped in a Bagco bag, hence, the suspects were transferred to the Police Area Command, Bida for interrogation and further investigation.

 

“During Police interrogation, the suspects claimed that they got the human skull from their village, and mentioned three other persons who aided in digging the grave where the skull was exhumed; Ibrahim Jiya 18, Suleiman Usman 22, Abdullahi Usman 24, all of the same address mentioned above.

 

“The three suspects were also arrested and confessed further that the skull was dug out from the Sakpe village burial ground and that it was that of one Ndako Daniyan who died three years ago in the same village.

 

“Isah and Abdullahi claimed to have met one Alfa Suleiman from Kwara State at Bida three weeks ago who told them to get a human skull for money ritual purposes and instructed them to take it to someone in Minna with thirty thousand naira only, while the unknown recipient said that when they get to Kpakungu, they should call him and he would meet them.”

 

The spokesman said the five suspects have been transferred to SCID Minna for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.

A Mexican man dubbed the ‘Cannibal of Puebla’ who allegedly killed his wife, ate her brain in tacos, and used her skull as an ashtray has been arrested in Mexico.

 

The suspect, identified as Alvaro,32,  was picked up at the couple’s home in Puebla on July 2 and taken into custody.

 

 

He is accused of murdering his wife, a mother of five on June 29 while under the influence of a prohibited substance.

 

During questioning, he allegedly told officers that Santa Muerte (Our Lady of Holy Death) and the devil had ordered him to commit the crime.

 

Following the killing, Alvaro allegedly dismembered victim Maria Montserrat Animas Montiel’s body and placed her remains in plastic bags.

 

He allegedly threw some of them into a ravine behind the home and kept the rest inside the property.

 

 

According to sources close to the case, he confessed to eating part of his wife’s brain in tacos and using part of her shattered skull as an ashtray.

 

Two days after the killing, he allegedly called one of his stepdaughters to confess his crime.

 

The victim’s mother, Maria Alicia Montiel Serran, told local media: ‘He told one of her daughters to come and collect her mum because “I already killed her and put her in bags”.

 

Grieving Maria Alicia added that Alvaro chopped up the 38-year-old victim’s body ‘with a machete, a chisel, and a hammer’. She went on: ‘I called him crying, asking why he did that to her if she wasn’t a bad person.’

 

According to Maria Alicia, the suspect confessed: ‘I killed her, I cut her into pieces, and I threw her into the ravine in bags.’

 

She added that he claimed: ‘She didn’t suffer.’

 

Maria Montserrat married Alvaro less than a year ago. She had five daughters, aged 12 to 23. The youngest two lived with the couple and, they were subjected to violence and sexual harassment from Alvaro , according to their grandmother.

 

Maria Alicia said: ‘He would spy on them while they showered, and my daughter, well, you know that out of love, she always sided with him.’
The victim’s family says Alvaro – a builder – is a drink and drug addict and was often violent towards his wife.

 

The family says the couple often posted about their worship of Santa Muerte on social media. The police reportedly found a black magic altar in their home.

 

Maria Alicia said: ‘Drugs, he used them, and he snorted cocaine and everything. Well, I think he had mental problems because to do something like that…

‘He adored the one down below, well, I know because she had Santa Muerte tattooed on one of her colourful legs.’

 

The victim’s family has not yet been able to lay Maria Montserrat to rest because the police are still searching for some of her remains, which also need to be DNA-tested.

 

Her mother demanded: ‘Give her to me so that I can bury her and give her a proper send-off.

‘That’s what I want, and don’t let him go free because I believe no mother would want her daughter to be sent to her in pieces. I demand justice.’
The Puebla Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the case.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a suspected ritualist for possession of a human skull.

 

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Olatoye Durosinmi, disclosed this during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo on Friday. 

 

According to the CP, the suspect, Edu Ime, was arrested at Uraua Ekpa Junction, around Calabar-Itu Highway.

 

“On 15/05/2023, at about 8:05pm, one Edu Udeme Ime of Mbak Etoi Village, UYO was arrested at Urua Ekpa junction by the Command’s Quick Response Squad for being in possession of human skull,” he stated. 

 

“The suspect could not give any reasonable explanation as to why he was in possession of same but named their ring leader who is a suspected ritualist.

 

In another development, police arrested two airport vandals. 

 

“On 3/5/2023, at about 11:05pm, in a coordinated operation, the duo of Enyeneokpo Ubeh of Ikot Antia Village and Gabriel Essien of Ndon Ebom village, both in Uruan LGA were arrested by Operatives of the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Command for vandalizing and stealing part of the airport gate facing the Okobo axis of the Victor Attah International Airport. Some of the e vandalized parts have been recovered and efforts are being made to arrest other fleeing gang members,” the CP added.

Two youngsters have reportedly been left ‘traumatised’ by the discovery of human remains in their garden.

 

Tegan Mayall, 25, who lives in Aberdeen, UK told the Press and Journal her four-year-old son Noah and their neighbour’s daughter were playing in the garden of the apartment block where they live before they found a human skull wrapped inside a plastic bag.

 ‘They both ran over to the side of the garden and grabbed this bag and we weren’t sure what was in it.

‘The kids were messing about with it because they thought it was a Halloween decoration, because that’s what it looked like.

‘It’s normally a quiet building and everyone goes out and it’s not what you expect to find in a garden.’ she said

Police officers worked at the scene for five hours on Wednesday afternoon, May 3 asking all residents of the building to remain in their flats for the duration of the search.

 

A police spokesperson said: ‘Following theft from a church in Union Street, Aberdeen, a 17-year-old man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, May 3.

‘A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.’

The sister of LA Clippers star, Kawhi Leonard has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of an elderly woman who was found with a cracked skull on the bathroom floor at Pechanga Resort Casino in California in 2019.

Leonard’s older sister, Kimesha Williams, 39, and one Candace Townsell, 42, were sentenced on Friday for the killing of Afaf Assad, an 84-year-old woman from Long Beach, per The Press-Enterprise.

Both women were convicted of first-degree murder, robbery, and elder abuse in February after a monthlong trial.

 

Deputies from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station said they were called to the four-star hotel and casino in Temecula – a two-hour drive south from Los Angeles – at about 8am on August 31, 2019, to find Assad lying unconscious on the bathroom floor.

 

She and her husband of 59 years, Youanness, 93, entered the casino with a purse containing $1,000, according to The Press-Enterprise. Assad eventually went to the bathroom, where Williams followed her, while Townsell was on the lookout, at one point blocking a custodian from entering.

No witnesses saw the attack on Assad unfold but a woman in a stall heard a ‘thud’ before Williams eventually left the bathroom and made a ‘beeline’ for the exit with Townsell.

Assad died four days later at a local hospital after being admitted with ‘serious injuries.’

Her bright pink purse went missing and was never found, the Press Enterprise reported. Riverside County Senior Deputy District Attorney Marcus Garrett claimed during the trial that the purse had been ripped from Assad’s arm, pointing to a ‘deep laceration’ where the strap had been on the elderly woman’s body.

Garrett also contended that Assad had been either pushed or fell. Leonard was not present at his sister’s sentencing on Friday.

Prior to Assad’s murder a little less than four years ago, Williams and Townsell were well known to officials at the Pechanga Resort and other Inland Empire casinos.

In 2015, Williams was permanently banned from Pechanga after stealing someone’s wallet, a casino official told the Press-Enterprise News.

Leonard’s sister was also permanently barred entry from the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in Cabazon and the Yaamava Casino in Highland after ‘ripping winning tickets’ out of people’s hands, Garrett shared in a court filing.

Additionally, Townsell had been banned from the Soboba Casino Resort near San Jacinto in 2017 for 90 days, following the disappearance of two purses, according to Garret’s filing.

She was then banned from Morongo Casino in 2018 after a shoving incident with her boyfriend.

Williams was previously convicted for another crime, involving attempted robbery, in Los Angeles County, according to Press-Enterprise News.

Leonard, a two-time NBA champion with the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors – has three sisters other than Williams. His father, Mark Leonard, was shot and killed on January 18, 2008, at the Compton car wash he owned.

Men of the Niger State Police Command have arrested a suspected ritualist, 38-year-old Abdulrahman Woru, for being in possession of a human skull at Babana, Borgu Local Government Area of the state on January 24.

 

In a statement released, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspect who resides in Babana, is from Gbesewona village of Benin Republic. 

 

According to Abiodun;

When a search was conducted in his house a human skull, three pieces of suspected human ribs, two idols and cash sum of 5000 CFA of Benin Rep currency were recovered. During interrogation, he confessed that the human skull recovered belonged to him. He claimed that he migrated from Benin Rep to Nigeria about four years ago for his business, without any immigration document, and that he is a traditional medicine practitioner.?

Abiodun also said the suspect further claimed that he recently travelled to Benin Rep, and while entering Nigeria, he saw a bag on the road with the skull in it.

 

?He (suspect) said he tied it on his motorcycle and took it home, because he believed it will be useful for his work, and he did not report to the Police. The Command appreciates the support of Nigerlites and members of the public, and urge them not to relent by informing the police when they see something strange in their environment for quick intervention.?thestatement read

Abiodun added that the suspect will soon be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution.

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have apprehended two men identified as Raji Silver and Nodji Kodji for being in possession of two human skulls and several bones.

 

The operatives also arrested a suspected buyer of the skulls, identified as Dauda Yakubu, a commercial motorcycle operator and a woman in connection to the alleged crime.

Parading the suspects before newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Yahaya Nguroje, said the suspects confessed that they dug the skulls and the bones from a grave in Cameroon and brought them to sell to Dauda, who once bought it at the sum of 5 million Cameroonian currency.

 

He said that upon apprehending the suspects, the state Commissioner of Police, S.K Akande, ordered that they be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for discreet investigation.

Actress Helen Duru has accused EFCC operatives of attacking her in her apartment in Enugu state. 

The actress who shared a video of her covered in blood and with a fractured skull, alleged that the security operatives tried gaining access to her apartment late at night, said she was never a person of interest and those who attacked her never introduced themselves. 

She also accused the operatives of taking turns to beat her. She said they spoke in Hausa and allegedly chanted “yamiri” repeatedly while attacking her.

When they saw me, they asked me to come down and open the staircase door which I ignored and hid. They had flash lights . They kept insisting I open the staircase door . I later went inside my house.

Few minutes on ,I heard a boy screaming and crying for help. Then my neighbor called me to alert me. I told her I was awake , We both came out from our balconies ( She lives on the first floor) they men started shouting at us that we should go in or open the staircase gate. The next thing we heard they started damaging the staircase door and gained acces . I went inside my room and locked the door. Two men climbed to my flat, damaged my two doors, gained access into my house and started beating me. I got a slap first that made me shouted Jesus Christ . They spoke in Hausa language but all I could hear was “yamiri” the beating became intense as they beat me in turns , using a rod/stick ( don’t exactly know what that was ) all over my body . One picked my usb phone cord and descended on me.

They kept speaking In Hausa as the beat me. I could feel the rage in them as I kept screaming Jesus . I feared for my life Then I ran into the bathroom and close the door. They try to push it down but the entrance was too slim for both of them. They left my room.

I tried to come down to inform whoever is their superior what had happened, another one saw me, without saying a word he took his instrument and repeatedly hit my head screaming “get out ,go up “ I tried to explain why I had come down but he made sure he repeatedly hit my head until I felt fluid dripping on my face . Naija News earlier reports that Nigerians accused the reality star of having a connection with the devil, in which she explained via her Insta stories that her dress is simply a work of art and there are no spiritual connections.

According to Ifu Ennada, she is a child of God with a bible app on her phone which she uses to study the word of God daily.

“I am born again. I have a whole Bible App I use to study the Word of God daily. Pls stop this narrative of me being devilish because of my AMVCA look. I am a child of God…it’s all fashion.” the reality star said.

Reacting to the statement, the Anambra script interpreter, Uche berated the reality star for claiming to be born-again, adding that the exaggeration was another form of demonic manifestation.

In his words; “Dear Ifu, born again christians no dey allegedly spend one million naira on perfumes in a week, neither do they brag over AMVCA8 dress. Sometimes exaggeration is another form of demonic manifestation. You do not need to #advertise say you are born again Christian, Ariwo Ko Ni spirituality, actions speak louder than #AMVCA8 dress.
