Taraba Governor?s sister d!es after police escort ?accidentally’ shot her during gunmen attack

Atsi, the younger sister of Taraba State Governor, Agbus Kefas, has d!ed from gunshot injuries she sustained in a police accidental discharge.

Though Atsi’s d3ath was yet to be officially announced, a source close to the Taraba State Government confirmed to the Daily Trust that she died in an undisclosed hospital in Abuja where she had been receiving treatment after the incident.

“Please don’t quote me because it has not yet been made public,” the source told the publication. 

 Atsi, 44, was accidentally shot by a police escort during an attack by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers. 

The gunmen on motorcycles had attacked the convoy of Kefas’ mother along the Wukari-Kente road in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State on Thursday, December 5, 2024. 

It was gathered that a police escort in the convoy tried to fire at the gunmen who attempted to block the vehicle conveying the governor’s mother, Jummai Kefas, but the bullet accidentally hit Atsi, who was sitting next to her mother.

Atsi was reportedly rushed to the Teaching Hospital, Wukari but was later flown to Abuja for further treatment.
