Good morning Arewa!
According to a UNICEF report, there are 15.23 million out-of-school children in Northern Nigeria, while the South has only 2.58 million.
• North West: 8.04 million
• North East: 5.06 million
• North Central: 2.12 million
• South West: 1.15 million
• South South: 769,000
• South East: 664,000
This is a serious educational crisis that needs urgent attention. Stakeholders across the North, from government officials, traditional leaders, NGOs, volunteers, and members of our communities, must unite with determination to secure a better future for our region.
Let’s liberate the younger and next generation from the cycle of poverty and limited opportunities by ensuring they all have access to education.
Kindly share as widely as possible!”
When an X user questioned him about what the Buhari-led government which he served in did to reduce the statistics in the North, Bashir said it is not the responsibility of the Federal government to ensure students are in primary schools but in the state government.
