Thorn in Socceroos’ side nearly died on the pitch

Denmark has taken the unusual step of naming 21 of their 26-man squad for the upcoming World Cup, with the final five names to be confirmed in the coming days.

Nations have until the November 13 to finalise their lists, but Australia’s opponents have instead opted to name the majority of their squad, with the final few to be included after this weekend’s club football action.

Among the 21 is Manchester United’s Christian Eriksen, who has completed a remarkable return to football after he was told he may never play again following a horrific moment when he went into cardiac arrest at the Euro 2020 tournament last June.

Ahead of this month’s FIFA World Cup, we will have squads for all 32 nations heading to the world’s biggest tournament as they roll in.
