TINFF Awards 2021: Rotimi Adelola, ‘The New Patriots’ get 4 nominations

The New Patriots,’a movie produced by Dr Rotimi Adelola, has last month clinched four nominations in different categories at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) Awards 2021.

The movie, which premièred last month, got three nominations under three different categories at the TINFF Awards 2021a. This nomination is coming after the film won an international award in the Five Continents International Film Festival, where it secured the Best ‘Action Feature Film’ award.

In TINFF, ‘The New Patriots’ was nominated under the ‘Best Drama – Nollywood’, ‘Best Film – African’ and ‘Best Movie Trailer’ categories.

The film will be one of the films representing Nigeria and will be competing with seven other movies from other African countries like Ghana, Morocco, UK/Cameroon, and Namibia in some of the categories.

The movie will also compete in a very tight category like the ‘Best Movie Trailer’ where it will drag it with movies from four continents – Africa, North America, Europe, and South America.

Rotimi Adelola, producer of ‘The New Patriots’ also got a nomination as the ‘Best Movie Producer’ – Africa, where he would compete with four other producers across the continent of Africa.

In his reaction to the nomination, Rotimi Adelola said: “We give glory to God for this amazing reality.”
