Former Nigerian Leader Commends Tinubu’s Administration
Former Head of State Yakubu Gowon expressed support for President Bola Tinubu’s leadership during a meeting at the Presidential Villa on Saturday. Gowon stated that he believes Tinubu is “doing the best he can all round” in managing Nigeria’s affairs.
Gowon highlighted the president’s efforts across various sectors, including politics, the economy, and social development, as well as ongoing initiatives to address insecurity in the country. “Every area—political, economic, social—he’s working diligently to tackle the major problems we face, particularly security,” Gowon said.
When questioned about specific areas for improvement, the former leader emphasized that Tinubu’s administration is actively addressing Nigeria’s key challenges. “He’s got to look after the interests of Nigeria in all areas,” Gowon remarked.
Gowon explained that his visit aimed to recognize and appreciate the progress being made under Tinubu’s leadership. “I came to see him and to thank him for all the good work that he’s doing for the country,” he stated, adding that the discussions focused on the positive developments in Nigeria’s economy and other sectors.
