Tinubu returns to Nigeria after state visit to Türkiye

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following a state visit to the Republic of Türkiye. His presidential aircraft, an Airbus A330, landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 8:55 p.m. on Saturday. The Presidency confirmed his return through a brief statement.

Tinubu’s trip commenced on Tuesday and included significant discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The visit resulted in the signing of nine bilateral agreements focused on crucial areas such as defense, energy, security, and research, aiming to enhance collaboration between Nigeria and Türkiye.

During their dialogues, both leaders emphasized strengthening ties and pursuing shared objectives that would yield mutual benefits for their nations. The presidential delegation included key figures such as the Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Attorney General and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi, Minister of Defence Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.), and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
