Tonto Dikeh faces N200m lawsuit over viral deliverance video on schoolgirl

Nollywood Actress Tonto Dikeh Faces Legal Action Over School Deliverance Incident
ABUJA — Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has been named in a N200 million lawsuit for conducting a deliverance session involving a schoolgirl on educational premises. The suit was filed at the High Court in Abuja by human rights attorney Ikechukwu Obasi.
Obasi represents a Junior Secondary School student from Rivers State, who was reportedly subjected to what he describes as a harmful religious ritual. Footage of the incident has circulated online, raising concerns about the girl’s privacy.
The lawsuit claims that sharing the video without the girl’s consent infringes upon her rights as outlined in Section 37 of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution and the Child Rights Act of 2003. Obasi seeks N200 million in damages, a public apology, and the removal of the footage from all social media channels. He emphasizes that the actions violate the student’s constitutional rights to dignity and personal privacy.
Recently, Dikeh shared a video of her spiritual deliverance session with the schoolgirl during a visit to a secondary school in Durumi II, Abuja. The incident has sparked significant public attention and debate regarding consent and privacy rights in similar situations.
